Distance Learning

At Realme Training Consulting, we offer a number of Distance Learning courses.

These courses are recognised by the Higher Education South Africa (HESA) and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
The courses are as follows:

Foundation Course (CS1) (Encompasses Grades 8 & 9)

Our Foundation Course is designed to give learners a firm grounding in the subjects of Mathematics, Combined Sciences, English, Afrikaans and Computers.

Foundation learners do the Cambridge Checkpoint exams. All other subject exams are marked locally at the centre. The foundation can be completed in 24 months.

Learners must take all compulsory subjects (English, Afrikaans, Mathematics and Combined Sciences – Biology, Physics, and Chemistry).

International GCSE Course (Encompasses Grades 10 & 11)

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (International GCSE) is offered in over 160 countries worldwide, both in International Educational Facilitation Centres and in institutions catering for the local populations.

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education has been designed to equip learners with the skills needed for immediate employment. The International GCSE is recognised as evidence of ability by academic institutions and employers around the world.

Different abilities are accounted for with a choice of Core and Extended papers in most subjects, making the International GCSE suitable for all learners. The International GCSE curriculum enables teaching to be placed in a localised context, making it relevant in different regions. In some countries, International GCSE qualifications will satisfy the entry requirements for university. In others, they are used as a preparation AS Level, A Level, International Baccalaureate, and US Advanced Placement courses. The International GCSE can be completed in 18 months or two years.

Learners choose five subjects (pass mark is 60%) or seven subjects (pass mark is 40%) from the correct groups.

AS Level Course (Equivalent to Grade 12)

The Advance Subsidiary Level (AS Level) is equivalent to Grade 12 of South Africa Educational Facilitation Centring. If you choose the AS Level route to South African university, you must meet all the requirements in a maximum of two exam sessions and meet the group requirements in the subjects passed. The AS Level can be completed in 12 to 24 months.

Learners choose five subjects from the correct group. An extra subject is recommended if sitting the AS Level Examinations in two sittings. Please consult Realme Training Consulting when choosing subjects and examination sittings.
